We left Chengdu yesterday, and this was Lili's first airplane ride....And she did miraculously. She slept the whole way and made it very easy for us. We arrived in the very HUMID Guangzhou. First of all, the hotel is AMAZING. It’s just a beautiful hotel, very Vegas like. The rooms are also very nice; sitting room with flat screens, great view of the city; and a second bedroom; the bath is also very super nice. Let’s just say they saved the best for last!
We were hungry; so we went to an Italian restaurant close by, and it was delicious. Comforts of home; Lili loved spaghetti. She ate two plates, then two plates of dessert and some fruit.
Lili loves to take baths and get ready for bed. We give her a soy milk bottle and lay her down. She has kicked and cried, but after turning off the lights she soon stops. This last night she started up again, Leo went to her bed, she handed him her bottle, he laid her down and she became quiet. She slept the whole night....then got up at some time and whimpered. I let her whimper and then she fell back asleep. Not so bad....
Next morning we finally had a REAL breakfast. Leo was super happy! :) We had to meet our guide to go to the medical plaza for Lili's medical review and TB test. Fortunately because we are non-Hague, she didn’t need shots. Whew! Elsie had us in there in less than 20 minutes; and it was packed! We even saw the couple from Chicago; and they had been there for over 2 hours. Crazy! Lili cried at her TB test but she was over it within a few minutes. I felt terrible for her..then we just went through the rounds of height, weight, ENT (if you can really call it that). And she did very well. Afterwards we went to the White Swan, Elsie had to meet another family there...The Nelsons. Funny thing is that May Nelson , the mom, we had met by emails about a month ago. Super nice people; their little girl is Maya, just turned 2 years old. Sweet little girl.
The rest of the afternoon we just walked around getting to the know city and tried to adjust to our dynamics. Lili is a really good girl...just quiet; she does smile, giggle and eats well. The dynamics is that all she wants is me; and won’t go to Leo. It’s frustrating and I know this is not the first time I am mentioning it....but it is hard and a bit emotional. Don’t get me wrong; I love that she is all about me, but it can be a bit hard. I can’t get a break. And Leo wishes that he can hold her, play with her, and even more for them to bond. And I know it will happen, and I know he knows that, but it’s just frustrating. He did have a moment today though. And those are the moments that show that she will come around. Hopefully sooner than later.
Tomorrow is a free day....no plans at this moment...But I am starting my countdown to go back home 5 days! Can’t wait!

Glad to hear your medical exam was quick and there were no shots involved! I wanted to give my sympathies to your back and also to Leo. After a we came home I didn't have to carry Wren constantly anymore. My back was grateful! We are still taking baby steps with Baba though.
