And she Appeared

We had been up since 5am this Monday morning.....anticipating the moment we would meet Olivia. This morning they brought us the pack n play; so we prepared that. Then we prepared the gifts to the director and nanny, and prepared her back pack of goodies. After that we spent most of the day just walking around (aimlessly) in the markets, up and down the streets, eating this, eating that. Finally the time came , we headed back to the hotel room to get ready. I didn't know what to think or feel. Neither did Leo. What is this moment going to be like? How will she react? everything running through our heads

We headed to the civil affairs office, we were there in about 20 mins. We walked in, were told to sit at a table and wait. It was an all glass entry doors, so we can see outside. Our guide went outside to the car, and out of nowhere this van pulls up in front...And there she was! Sitting in the nanny's lap on the passenger side. They opened the door, put her down. She was the tiniest thing i had seen...so adorable, so tiny. We immediately went outside to greet her. She had all her little goodies from her care package we sent her. That was touching to see. We went inside into the building, and i immediately sat on the floor to talk with her. She is very quiet; and observant. She did come to me, and sat on my lap while i talked to her, and gave her the new toys. She is beautiful! We immediately fell more in love with her.

We did all necessary signing, and then we were on our way. Just like that...she was left with us. When her nanny first told her she was leaving, she started to whimper and tears started to fall down her face. Then the water works started on me. I hated that she felt pain or loss. That she knew she wasn't going back...i just held her, hugged her, kissed her...and it calmed her down.

I love how she reacted to Leo so easily! At first she wouldn't look at him; but then she did, and then she let him hold her. And she was fine. Got back to the room to rest, and gave her new toys, and gave her first bag of gold fish. She loved them! Didn't want to share with Mama or Baba. Very cute.

Leo then decided that she needed ice cream. So off to Mcds we went for ice cream. Now if we were getting stares on the streets before; IMAGINE now with her in our arms.

To make this posting somewhat short: She is just precious. Very quiet, very smart...best part we got a giggle or two from her, and some smiles. No Joke! It was heart warming! She did great taking her bath; laid in bed watching a video, took her bottle and relaxed. She got to meet her Tia Monica over skype; that was exciting...She waved bye bye to her when we had to hang up...and shortly there after we laid down, and with in a few minutes she was asleep.

I learned that she will fit right into our family! Thank you Lord for blessing us once again with a beautiful child. Its been a long journey but oh my goodness so worth it! I will leave you with some pictures, and hopefully the video will post too. Thank you , Thank you for all your well wishes, and prayers! Please continue them all!
